About counselling

We all go through times when we feel worried, confused, angry or sad. Whatever you’re going through, it helps to talk about it. We’re here to support you and help you find ways to cope. No problem is too big or too small.
If you live in Gloucestershire and are aged between 9-25 there are lots of ways you can get support from Talk Well.
To sign up for counselling you’ll first need to contact our friendly receptionist during opening times or get your parent or someone you trust to do this for you.

Types of counselling
We understand that different ways of speaking to a counsellor work for different people. That’s why we try and provide a variety of options to make counselling accessible to everyone.
Face-to-face
You can choose to meet your counsellor at your school or college, or at another suitable location near to where you live.
Online
A 1-2-1 instant text chat with one of our qualified counsellors that’s a lot like texting, and you can do it on your computer, phone or tablet.
Telephone
Some people find it challenging to talk face-to-face; remote phone calls offer the opportunity to talk with trained counsellors.
Video
Remote counselling enables you to continue getting support from Talk Well counsellors without having to go into school or public buildings.
Think a one off session might suit you?
One at a Time is a single, solution-focused session – an ideal choice if you are facing a specific issue and want some help working out what you want to be different.
Don’t want to wait or prefer to talk anonymously?
Call or live-message our friendly, trained team members about anything that’s troubling you on TalkWellChat. You can talk to us about anything. No appointment required.

"I honestly don't know where I'd be without you. You're amazing."
